Daisy Award

Did you experience exceptional care at Kossuth Regional Health Center? Nominate a great nurse from KRHC as a candidate for the DAISY award. All nominees and the overall winner are honored annually during National Hospital Week each May.

 All are welcome to submit a nomination – patients, guests, volunteers – anyone who has seen a special nurse in action. 

NOMINATE AN EXTRAORDINARY NURSE

 DAISY award nominees should be individuals who show compassionate care and illustrate other important criteria, such as:

  • Makes a special connection with patient and family
  • Works well with the health care team to meet patient and family needs
  • Makes patients and their families feel comfortable
  • Provides excellent education to patient and families
  • Includes patients and families in the planning of their care
  • Goes above and beyond what is expected

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The Foundation was formed in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).  The primary mission of the Foundation is to help express gratitude to nurses for the work they do for patients.
