New family physician to join KRHC staff

Dr. Rachel Venteicher, a family medicine resident at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, will join the Kossuth Regional Health Center medical staff in the summer of 2009. 

“We are so pleased that Dr. Venteicher will be joining us at Kossuth Regional,” said KRHC administrator Scott Curtis.  “Working with the Mercy residency program has introduced us to excellent physician recruits in the past, and I have no doubt that we’ve found another standout.  We’re thrilled to have her on board.”

Dr. Venteicher grew up in Titonka and is looking forward to being back in the area with her husband, Brett, and daughter, Alaina.

“I love being close to family, and I am especially looking forward to working with the fantastic physicians and staff at Kossuth Regional Health Center,” she said.

Venteicher obtained her undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa and then attended Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center for her medical training.

Her professional interests include obstetrical care, women’s health and preventative medicine. She is the chief resident of her class at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa.  Venteicher will be seeing patients at KRHC the entire month of August.

“We have had the opportunity to have Dr. Venteicher cover for our staff in the past and we’re looking forward to hosting her at KRHC again so our staff and patients can get to know her better,” Curtis said.
