Foundation’s Legacy Ball a sweet success

The Kossuth Regional Health Center Foundation hosted a successful event on November 7 with the annual Legacy Ball, raising $63,000 for the Foundation Endowment Fund.

“The Foundation recently pledged a significant gift to our dialysis campaign from the interest created from the Endowment Fund.  By growing this fund, the KRHC Foundation maintains a dependable source of funding for hospital projects, equipment, training needs and much more,” said KRHC Foundation Director Nancy Grandgenett-Besch.

Chocolate was the theme for this black-tie event, beginning with chocolate martinis during the expanded social hour before the meal was served.  Chefs Tom Straub of Sister Sarah’s and Geri Elsbecker of the Knights of Columbus Hall worked together to provide a meal that featured a chocolate flair in both the salad and the entrée.  Desserts were displayed on the table as both the centerpiece and final course of the chocolate delights, made by Erica Jenson of the Chocolate Season and Tina Banwart of Tina Marie’s in West Bend.

“The chocolate theme was a lot of fun this year and tried to weave that theme into the meal, decorations and silent auction items,” Grandgenett-Besch said.  “We had lots to celebrate this fall with new medical staff on board, a successful capital campaign and the construction project on schedule.  The Legacy Ball continues to provide an opportunity for us to reflect on the highlights of the year, recognize our many donors and look ahead to what’s next.”

The $1.5 million capital campaign was extended to include an additional $250,000 for an expanded dialysis unit at Kossuth Regional Health Center.  The unit will be relocated to a larger area with KRHC that will offer the opportunity for many improvements to the space and add an additional treatment chair.
