Kossuth Regional lifts visitor restrictionsAfter nearly four months of limited visitors for hospital inpatients, Kossuth Regional Health Center has lifted the visitor restrictions. KRHC, along with many other hospitals across the state of Iowa, instituted a restricted visitor policy last fall to help prevent the spread of seasonal and H1N1 influenza. KRHC continues to utilize strategies to protect against the spread of illness, such as making facial masks and hand sanitizer available for patients in the clinic and the emergency room, but has determined that the visitor restriction policy is no longer necessary. “We know how much a visit from friends and family can lift the mood of a patient, so we’re pleased to be able to remove the visitor restrictions,” said Scott Curtis, KRHC administrator. “We do encourage our visitors to continue to use good judgment when they come to our facility, and to avoid visiting patients when they are ill or recovering from an illness.” For more information contact Kossuth Regional Health Center at 515-295-2451.
