Board Certified Family Physicians

Burt J. Bottjen, MD
Dr. Burt Bottjen graduated from the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1984 and after completing a Family Practice Residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines in 1987, joined the practice at the Kossuth Family Health Center in Algona. He chose family practice as a specialty because he loves treating patients of all ages with a wide variety of problems. "I like to watch people grow, age and change over time." Dr. Bottjen and his family enjoy living in Kossuth County and in Iowa. He and his wife Kathy have three daughters: Sheryl, Rachel, and Amanda. Dr. Bottjen enjoys fishing, water sports, racquetball, American History and Telemedicine. He volunteers at church, mainly with youth activities.

Jeff Doolittle, MD
Dr. Doolittle graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 2001, and after completing a residency program with Mercy Family Medicine in Mason City began practicing at Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs, MO. Dr. Doolittle joined the Kossuth Regional Health Center medical staff in September of 2007. His professional interests include full spectrum family medicine, women's health and maternity care, pallative care, travel and missions medicine and mentoring in medical education. He and his wife Jennifer have four children, Juliana, Joshua, Joel and Jacob.

Alan Hjelle, MD
Dr. Alan Hjelle graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison Medical School in 1993 and after completing a Family Practice Residency Program at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa, joined the practice at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, in the summer of 1996. Dr. Hjelle is board certified in Family. He and his wife Michelle have two children, Bo and Emma. Dr. Hjelle enjoys movie going, sports and recreational singing.

Michael Lampe, DO
Dr. Michael Lampe is originally from Storm Lake, Iowa and joined the KRHC staff as a family practitioner in August of 2005. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, before graduating from Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center. In his residency, Dr. Lampe was the chief resident of family practitioners at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. He and his wife Emily have three daughters. One of Dr. Lampe’s favorite things about family medicine is the opportunity for whole-spectrum care for an individual and families. He especially enjoys Obstetrics as an area of clinical interest. His hobbies include watching and playing sports, traveling and fishing.
 
Kenton K. Moss, MD
Dr. Kenton Moss graduated from the University of Iowa School of Medicine and after completing his Family Practice Residency at the Davenport Medical Education Foundation, Davenport, Iowa, he joined the practice at the Kossuth Family Health Center in Algona. He chose a family practice because of the variety and the opportunity to interact with patients of all ages. Dr. Moss and his family appreciate the rural atmosphere and the quality of the people in Kossuth County. He enjoys working with his partners and the staff at KRHC and is grateful for a great facility. He and his wife Kathy have three children: Lindsey, Amber and Drew. He likes to bike, fly and play racquetball and volunteers at the YMCA and church.

Stephen D. Richards, DO
Dr. Steve Richards graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences and after completing a Family Practice Residency at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital, he began practicing with the United State Air Force at the Davis Mountain Air Force Base in Arizona. He began practicing at the Kossuth Family Health Center in Algona in 1979. Dr. Richards is currently a Colonel in the United States Air Force and is the state air surgeon for Iowa, assigned to the Headquarters of the Adjudant General for Iowa at the State Armory in Des Moines. Dr. Richards is the incoming president of the Iowa Academy of Family Practice for 2001-2002, a member of the Board of Directors of the Iowa Medical Society and a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Iowa Dept of Public Health. Dr. Richards chose family practice because he likes the variety. He and his wife Janice like Kossuth County. "This is a good community. We raised two children here (Chris and Alison)." Dr. Richards has also enjoyed watching the growth of the hospital. Dr. Richards is a member of the Morwen Kiwanis group and enjoys golf.

Ronald Moeller, M.D.
Ronald Moeller, M.D., moved his full-time gynecology practice to Algona July of 2006.

Dr. Moeller’s practice involves both patient visits in the clinic as well as surgeries conducted in the hospital’s surgery department. He specializes in gynecologic surgery and supports Kossuth Regional Health Center’s existing obstetrics services by providing additional around-the-clock surgical coverage for obstetrics patients. Dr. Moeller graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. Before joining the staff in Algona, he was a partner with Mercy Gynecologic and Birthing Specialists in Mason City.

Rachel Venteicher, DO
Dr. Venteicher will join the KRHC medical staff as a family physician in August of 2009, after completing her residency with Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.  Dr. Venteicher grew up in Titonka and is looking forward to being back in the area with her husband, Brett, and daughter, Alaina. 

Venteicher obtained her undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa and then attended Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center for her medical training.  Her professional interests include obstetrical care, women’s health and preventative medicine. Dr. Venteicher grew up in Titonka and is looking forward to being back in the area with her husband, Brett, and two daughters.

Dr. Harry Condoleon, D.O

Dr. Harry Condoleon joined the KRHC staff as a general surgeon in June of 2009. He completed his medical training at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines after earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Dr. Condoleon and his wife Holli have five children.

Mark Davis, PA-c
Mark Davis, PA-c, graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences Physician Assistant program in 1986, at which time he began practicing in Mason City. He began practicing at Kossuth Family Health Center in 1988. Mark enjoys practicing in Kossuth County because "I spent several years as a surgical PA in Mason City. I wanted a smaller community to raise my family and I found a home in Kossuth County." Mark and his wife, Laurie have three children: Justin, Alanna and Mitchell. Mark enjoys hunting and fishing. He is a Colonel in the Air National Guard.

Kim Etherington, PA-c
Kim Etherington, PA-c, graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences Physician Assistant program and began practicing at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in July 1997. Kim enjoys family practice because she sees a variety of people and problems. She credits physician assistants and physicians at Kossuth Regional Health Center with influencing her decision to become a physician assistant. Kim grew up in Algona and is glad to be back home practicing because she knows people here and it is such a friendly community. Kim and husband Ryan have two children, Dominick and Kameryn. Kim enjoys gardening, golf, playing cards and spending quality time with family.

Jennifer Von Bank, P.A.-c.
Jennifer Von Bank, PA-c, began her full-time family medicine practice at Kossuth Regional Health Center’s Bancroft clinic in August of 2004. Jennifer grew up in the Armstrong/Ringstead area and is glad to work closer to family again. She graduated from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center Physician Assistant Program in May of 2002 and began practicing in Fairmont, Minn. at the Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Before becoming a physician’s assistant she worked as a registered nurse at Kossuth Regional Health Center in obstetrics, medical/surgical, and the emergency department. In addition to spending time with her husband, Jack, and young daughters, Vanessa and Olivia, Jennifer also likes to read and play golf.

Mental Health Services

Mia Hegarty-Roach, PhD
Psychologist Mia Hegarty, Ph.D. began providing mental health services at KRHC in August of 2007.  She provides assessment and therapy services to those who are age seven and older.  Her professional experiences include working with couples, families, adolescents and adults experiencing all types of mental illness and life issues.
