Dr. Jeff Doolittle
Jeff Doolittle, M.D.

Dr. Jeff Doolittle joined the KRHC medical staff as a family medicine physician and Chief Medical Officer in August 2023. 

A Prairie City, Iowa native, Doolittle attended the University of Northern Iowa where he received his undergraduate degree in 1997. He then attended medical school at the University of Iowa prior to entering the residency program at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Doolittle first joined KRHC in 2007 where he cared for patients in the Algona clinic until his departure in 2015 to teach students at a family medicine residency in Wichita, Kansas.

Dr. Grindberg
Christian Grindberg, D.O.
Dr. Christian Grindberg joined the medical practice at KRHC in August of 2016.  He is originally from Fort Dodge and earned his undergraduate degree at Central College in Pella, IA. His medical training was performed at the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Des Moines Lutheran before moving to Algona. 

Dr. Hjelle
Alan Hjelle, M.D.
Dr. Alan Hjelle  joined the practice at Kossuth Regional Health Center as a family physician in the summer of 1996. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison Medical School after completing a Family Practice Residency Program at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. Dr. Hjelle also serves as medical director for Ageless Solutions Aesthetic Clinic.

Michael Lampe, D.O.
Dr. Michael Lampe is originally from Storm Lake, Iowa and joined the KRHC staff as a family physician in August of 2005. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, before graduating from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. In his residency, Dr. Lampe was the chief resident of family practitioners at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. 

Dr. Owen
Brent Owen, M.D.
Dr. Brent Owen joined the KRHC medical staff as a family physician in August of 2011. He completed his undergraduate degree and his medical training at the University of Iowa. His residency was in Kansas with Via Christi Family Medicine.
Dr. Schantzen
John Schantzen, D.O.
Dr. John Schantzen joined the medical practice at KRHC in October of 2017.  He earned a biology and chemistry degree from St. Olaf College with a concentration in biomedical ethics.  He pursued his doctorate at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was also a Rural Medicine Pathway Student. He completed his residency at Via Christi in Kansas, where he served as Chief Resident.

Rachel Venteicher, D.O.

Dr. Rachel Venteicher joined the KRHC medical staff as a family physician in August of 2009, after completing her residency with Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Dr. Venteicher is originally from Titonka and is pleased to be practicing in this area. Dr. Venteicher obtained her undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of Northern Iowa and then attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine for her medical training.

Certified Physician Assistants

Travis Larson, P.A.-c

Travis Larson became a provider on the KRHC medical staff in March of 2020. He is originally from the Armstrong area and is pleased to be practicing in the area. Travis earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology at Southwest Minnesota State University before completing his Master's of Science in BioMedical Sciences at Regis University in Colorado and his Master's of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Iowa.

Jennifer Von Bank, P.A.-c

Jennifer Von Bank began her full-time family medicine practice at Kossuth Regional Health Center’s Bancroft clinic in August of 2004. Jennifer grew up in the Armstrong/Ringstead area and is glad to work close to family. She graduated from the Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center Physician Assistant Program. 

Greg Zaugg
Greg Zaugg, P.A.-c

Greg Zaugg joined the KRHC medical staff full-time in January of 2016. Greg specializes in emergency medicine and family medicine. He served our country in military service for 28 years and retired with the rank of Major on October 31, 2015. Greg served in the Naval Reserves and in active duty with the Navy. He served two deployments, one with the Forward Operating Base Taji, Iraq as well as overseas with Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

     

Jacob Lane
Jacob Lane, PA-C
Jacob Lane joined the KRHC medical staff full-time in July 2023. Jacob specializes in Emergency Medicine. 

Surgeon

Dr. Condoleon
Harry Condoleon, D.O.
Dr. Harry Condoleon joined the KRHC staff as a general surgeon in June 2009. He completed his medical training at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines after earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. In addition to general surgery residency, he completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh.  

Behavioral Health

Mia Hegarty Roach, Ph.D.
Dr. Mia Hegarty began providing mental health services at KRHC in August of 2007. She provides assessment and therapy services to those who are age seven and older. Her professional experiences include working with couples, families, adolescents and adults experiencing all types of mental illness and life issues. 
Peter Jorgenson
Peter Jorgenson, PMHNP
Peter Jorgenson began providing mental health services at KRHC in January 2023. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center with a degree from Maryville University, Peter specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health and substance abuse problems. He works closely with the medical team including Dr. Hegarty, Clinical Psychologist in order to provide caring, comprehensive treatment.
